Kamryn was tested for this: She doesn't have it. Cytomegalovirus (CMV), a member of the herpes virus family, its very common. Between 50% and 85% of people in the United States have had a CMV infection by the time they are 40 years old, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It lies dormant and is transmitted through bodily fluids. This is not good for transplant patients. If I have had it I won't be able to give her breast milk. I will be tested sometime today.
