Five months ago little Kamryn received her new heart. I find myself still in awe of what happened. To be given such a remarkable gift, that saved our daughters life, is humbling. She continues to get stronger, grow and bring joy to our family. We are now only doing clinic visits once a month. She is due for a blood draw this week. I think I heard a MAAAA out of her yesterday. Anyway she got what she wanted. She may be high maintenance in the meds department, but she really is a good baby.
16-18So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever. 2 Corinthians 4:17
Love is to be shared and life is to be lived, to be experienced, to be enjoyed. It is something to wrap oneself around and hold onto as tightly as possible with every fiber of one's being while simultaneously being completely and totally wrapped up inside it

7 Months and counting
It was
February and we were in the CICU when Whitney Houston died. Around the hospital
people were asking the question, "What is your favorite Whitney Houston
song?" My thoughts turned to the movie, "The Prince of
Egypt." Whitney Houston and Maria Carry sing, "When You
Believe." I looked it up on UTube and listened to it several times
that day.
Today
Kamryn is 7 months old and in 7 days will be 5 months post transplant. As the song says, "There can be miracles when you
believe." While Kamryn has some delays, (she is about 3 months
behind developmentally) she is catching up quickly. Those things we do
naturally as moms, help with balance and coordination. Missing out on
those small things makes a big difference. Yes, she will catch up.
Like her siblings she is not lacking in the social skills. She is a
good flirt. Tonight as she lays sleeping I can't help but sing,
"There can be miracles when you believe." I know it's
cheeeeezzzzeeee!
