Love is to be shared and life is to be lived, to be experienced, to be enjoyed. It is something to wrap oneself around and hold onto as tightly as possible with every fiber of one's being while simultaneously being completely and totally wrapped up inside it

8 Months old TODAY
Great are the works of the Lord ;
they are pondered by all who delight in them. (Psalm 111:2 NIV)
What a happy baby we have. Every morning she wakes up and plays "good morning...ny-night (my word)" with her daddy. Up goes her head for good morning and then down again for ny-night. This little ritual is repeated several times before daddy gets ready for work. She is delighted by her brothers, who at times are so enthusiastic forget she is a baby. She enjoys her time with the girls, who at times are asked to watch her so I can run errands or such.
Kamryn is sitting up very well now, but doesn't like her tummy or standing. The Dr. at clinic last week was very pleased with her progress. She has a blood draw next week and a clinic visit several weeks after that. We are making some adjustments to her formula but nothing to drastic. She tends to projectile vomit at least a bottle every other day sometimes more often. She is growing and is now 25.5 inches long and 11.10 lbs . Kamryn has decided to fight sleep, after all there must be something fun going on when her eyes are closed. If laundry, dishes, bathrooms and floors are fun no one informed me.
I am in awe of what God has given us as a family. He has drawn so many people together through our little darling. She is sleeping now I should go take care of those dishes...
Taking nothing for granted these days.

5 months and counting
Five months ago little Kamryn received her new heart. I find myself still in awe of what happened. To be given such a remarkable gift, that saved our daughters life, is humbling. She continues to get stronger, grow and bring joy to our family. We are now only doing clinic visits once a month. She is due for a blood draw this week. I think I heard a MAAAA out of her yesterday. Anyway she got what she wanted. She may be high maintenance in the meds department, but she really is a good baby.
16-18So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever. 2 Corinthians 4:17

7 Months and counting
It was
February and we were in the CICU when Whitney Houston died. Around the hospital
people were asking the question, "What is your favorite Whitney Houston
song?" My thoughts turned to the movie, "The Prince of
Egypt." Whitney Houston and Maria Carry sing, "When You
Believe." I looked it up on UTube and listened to it several times
that day.
Today
Kamryn is 7 months old and in 7 days will be 5 months post transplant. As the song says, "There can be miracles when you
believe." While Kamryn has some delays, (she is about 3 months
behind developmentally) she is catching up quickly. Those things we do
naturally as moms, help with balance and coordination. Missing out on
those small things makes a big difference. Yes, she will catch up.
Like her siblings she is not lacking in the social skills. She is a
good flirt. Tonight as she lays sleeping I can't help but sing,
"There can be miracles when you believe." I know it's
cheeeeezzzzeeee!

Four Months Ago a Heart Transplant Changed Our Lives
Yes, today, four months ago was Kamryn's heart transplant. I am in awe! That early morning phone call with the words, "We have a heart for Kamryn." will forever be ingrained in me. Today is a different kind of day in the life of Kamryn. She sat with us in bed as we celebrated Fathers day breakfast. Her medications now take a few minutes instead of an hour to give. She smiles, happily at her family and is make great strides in her development. (she does prefer mommy, but that is normal too.)
Today I was drawn to Hannah (1 Samuel 1and 2:11). While our stories are different our hearts are the same. We have shared anguish and pain, peace and joy.
My heart rejoices in the Lord: in the Lord my horn is lifted high, My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance. 1 Samuel 2:1

Six months old and so healthy
Today Kamryn is 6 months old. She is a healthy and happy baby. What got her to this point was a lot of prayer, faith and hope. This is a link to how happy and healthy she has become: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150862622535248
To be a person of courage, you must also be willing to go wherever God calls you to go. Having Godly courage doesn’t mean being sure of the future or even feeling in control. Godly courage is following God’s call to unknown places and/or situations no matter where it might lead. (Acts 22:1-21)

Disastrous blood draw
Kmaryn needs blood work to maintain her Cyclosporine at just the right level. The cyclosporine is an anti rejection medication. To much and her immunity is to low, to little and she could reject the heart. Babies are hard to draw for lab work. I get that! Babies that are frequently poked for blood work are harder. On Friday she went in for lab work. After three attempts we stopped and opp-ted for another day. So today is the day. Please pray for the phlebotomist to have steady and accurate hands today.
